Aditya Sharma is a Hindustani Classical Music Vocalist. A disciple of Padamshree Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, he is a graded Radio Artist.
Born in 1986, into a reputable family of musicians and teachers, Aditya’s Indian Classical Vocal training began early in life and prepared him for a life-long musical career. Gifted with a sonorous and mellifluous voice, his grandfather late Pandit Ramesh Chandra Dutt who himself was a product of Gandharv Mahavidyalaya, Lahore, established by Pandit Vishnu Digamber Paluskar, initiated him into music at the age of 4. He was further groomed by his able parents Dr Arvind Sharma, Professor, Panjab University, Deptt of Music, Chandigarh and Mrs Anita Sharma, Principal, Gandharv Mahavidyalaya, Panchkula.
His advanced training and natural ability brought to him numerous achievements, such as first place rankings in India’s top classical voice competitions, the Harballabh Sangeet Sammellan, Jallandhar and All India Inter-University Youth Festival. Aditya was the winner of All India Radio Music Competition, and subsequently graded as a Radio Artist, setting him on the sure path to national recognition and success.
In 2007, he was selected by the prestigious ITC-Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata to be one of the few residential Research Scholars. It was there that he began his advanced training under the tutelage of Padamshree Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, one of India’s leading classical vocalists of this generation. Aditya continues to receive training from this legendary maestro; his progress is evident in his frequent performances on All India Radio and other venues. Some of his noteworthy performances have been at Sangeet Natak Akademi’s “Yuva Pratibha” (Patiala),Chandigarh Sangeet Sammellan, The Attic, New Delhi, Prasar Bharti (Doordarshan) New Delhi. In 2013 he finished a successful concert tour in the US, with performances at major international stages like Basant Bahar, California and other multiple venues. Currently, he is teaching Vocal Music at the prestigious "The Doon School" in Dehradun and Pursuing Phd research on Voice Culture from Panjab University, Chandigarh
